Reminders

Relevant Objectives:

Use news media, social media, signage, event planning and anything other campus-wide means to publicize the tobacco-free campus policy and affirm it is in effect.

Summary

When I say reminders, I'm referring to annotations I was able to get added to the cashier's office's and the campus bookstore's receipts and also the schedules printed out by the registration's office. It only took a few hours to arrange all of the reminders, so even if many people don't notice them, it was worth the effort.

First I talked to the bookstore supervisor. He said there was limited space, but he was able to get this reminder at the bottom of the receipt.

Artifact A

I don't like how it is clumped with the other message, but I'm glad they were able to work with me. I have doubts people are going to see it, but for those who read their receipts, it is there.

Next I talked with the registration's office. I was told to email one of the registrars who was over these kinds of things. I sent an email, and about a month later I got an email confirming it was done. Here is a sample of what it looks like on the schedules.

Artifact B

This one is a lot more isolated and clear. My only worry is that many students don't need to go to the registration office once they get the hang of signing up for classes. I do think it is noticeable to who do get schedules printed by the registration office.

The last one is from the cashier's office. I had to email the business services revenue director to get it approved, but she approved it pretty quickly.

Artifact C

This one is also isolated for the most part, but as you can see, the receipt is pretty long. With the message being at the very bottom of such a long receipt, I wonder if people will notice.

I'm not convinced these reminders are extremely effective, but it didn't take time to set up with the different offices and the bookstore, and these receipts and schedules should pass through the hands of many students.
